I had to readjust to what Keyboardist had to do.

What Jazz instrument are you talking about ? Tablist was not required in this song. And yes it was not easy to sing in shruthi with hardly anything being heard.Murali Venkatramanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13821705444663337877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6515479.post-36634416903258011592009-06-25T18:25:53.327+10:002009-06-25T18:25:53.327+10:00Over All you have done well. (2)Why u preferred to have Jazz as accomaniment, it has very much affected songs feel and I wud say Jazz was odd instrument which u shoud have avoided. Instead the tabalist was sitting idle. Why u didnt make use of him? You have great potential, please try to use it in the proper direction. Conducting the orchestra and playing keyboard while singing this - wow!

It has been a while since I heard this song. Thanks for putting it online.

PS: The song is from Nirakudam and Yesudas acted in this song.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6515479.post-1144342852475705912006-04-07T03:00:00.000+10:002006-04-07T03:00:00.000+10:00there were so many things going wrong apart from m...there were so many things going wrong apart from myself :) Some feedback issues and some deafening applause (when I was rendering the swarams) and too much of instrument volume on stage with hardly any volume for the singer - too many pararemters..But as you say, it was just an attempt to do something more than I was capable of chewing. I have resigned to only singing and conducting these days. (there was another full fledged concert in Nashville where I did the same thing and somehow came out unscathed). Thanks for your observations.Murali Venkatramanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13821705444663337877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6515479.post-1144342593695889642006-04-07T02:56:00.000+10:002006-04-07T02:56:00.000+10:00Murali:Have seen enough of playing the keys and al...Murali:

Have seen enough of playing the keys and also singing. We had Mux doing it on our stage shows until the God Kishmu came along (-:

On a general note, found the pallavi a little off compared to the rest of the song. The place where it steps into the raagamalika mode, the start and the swarams were a little off.The 2nd raagam and others were comparitively OK.

IMHO-- although the main lead keys were heard, the chords were not so audible. Was it the case even on stage like were the monitors not working? If so, then that makes a big difference (atleast for me!)

Given that you were rolled out into 3 roles for this specific song, guess it was a pretty decent job. But just as any other good singer especially on stage-- I am sure we all learn from mistakes!! So am pretty sure the next one was/will be better...Meera Manoharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02639179274139404277noreply@blogger.com
