Thene thenpaaNdi meenE

Movie: Udhayageetham
Composer : Ilaiyaraja
Singer : SPB
Lyrics : Vaali

Performed by : Murali

One of the lullabies I have cherished while growing up. Tried it my way. I wonder what % of SPB 's silkiness did I manage to capture. BTW, most of the songs I am posting here have been done quite a while bakc say 2 to 3 yrs easily..these days I hardly get time to sit and sing karaokes. hmm..

  2. That it was recorded 2-3 yrs ago shows.... Your voice is quite different yet it's the same if you know what I mean (-:

Your improv's in most places where I was expecting the typical SPB sangathis to fall kinda took me by surprise. For instance, "raaja nee dhaan.... " was well done, differently from the original.

    Any more nostalgic recordings??

  9. thanks to all you folks. Let me see how much I can sustain this blog by posting my old recordings :)

anup : ya the scale is a little low for me.

meera : there are a few. I will share them here.

vj : if you can do that, I will be happy. I seem to have hardly any time these days with academics coming to a close :)

radhika : I hope the 'stamp' you are talking is not a convenient approximation to the original :) thanks.
