தினமேநாம் கணிப்பொறியின் திரையின்மூலம்
திரைகடலும் தாண்டிமின் தொடர்புற்றாலும்

சினமேதான் வருகிறது சித்திரமே பொய் !

Meaning:

மனமேதான் உன்னன்பு மடியில் தஞ்சம் : My mind seeks solace on your lap

மரிக்காத சடலத்தில் ஆர்வப் பஞ்சம் : I am like a zombie..a living deadbody with no interest in life

கனமேதும் இல்லாத பஞ்சாய் : Like a weightless cotton ball

நெஞ்சம் காலக்காற்றாலூசல் ஆடும்: my heart gets battered by the wind of time

கெஞ்சும் : and pleads for mercy.

தினமேநாம் கணிப்பொறியின் திரையின்மூலம் : On the computer screen

திரைகடலும் தாண்டிமின் தொடர்புற்றாலும் : we see and talk to each other through video chat across the pacific

சினமேதான் வருகிறது : I still get irritated because

சித்திரமே பொய் ! Your image is not you. It is unreal.

உயிர்ப்புள்ள நீயேமெய் : You,with the heartbeat, are real.

சீக்கிரமே வா ! : Come Soon !

"இல்லாளோடுன் வாழ்க்கை இன்புற்றுண்டோ ?"
இங்கனமே கேட்போர்க்கு : "அவளே இங்கு

இல்லாள்"என் றுரைக்கின்ரேன் இதழில் ஏக்கப்
புன்னகையும் புண்சுவடாய் பதிந்தே போமோ !

நல்லாளாய் ஆவணங்கள் வெகுநாள் முன்னே
நாம்வைத்தும் புலப்பெயர்ச்சி ஊழியரெல்லாம்

பொல்லாளாய் இருக்கின்றார் பொறுமை எல்லை
போயேதான் விட்டதடி புலம்பல் உச்சம்.

Meaning:

"இல்லாளோடுன் வாழ்க்கை இன்புற்றுண்டோ ?" : How is your new life after marriage ? are you happy ?

இங்கனமே கேட்போர்க்கு : To those who pose this question,

"அவளே இங்கு இல்லாள்"என் றுரைக்கின்ரேன் : I say : " She is not here with me"

இதழில் ஏக்கப் புன்னகையும் புண்சுவடாய் பதிந்தே போமோ ! Will my lips get scarred by the fleeting sad smile ?

நல்லாளாய் ஆவணங்கள் வெகுநாள் முன்னே நாம்வைத்தும் : We submitted all our documents very early. Even then,

புலப்பெயர்ச்சி ஊழியரெல்லாம் பொல்லாளாய் இருக்கின்றார் : Immigration officials are so slow and take their own sweet time

பொறுமை எல்லை போயேதான் விட்டதடி: This has gone beyond my tolerance level.

புலம்பல் உச்சம்: And I am at the pinnacle of my rantings and ramblings.

விரியும்வரை விண்ணப்பம் இட்டேன் எந்தன்

முறுவலுடன் கொணர்ந்தேனே ! முனைந்தே பெற்றோர்

பழியாதே பாங்கோடு பண்பும் வழுவா(து)
பதமாயே மணம்செய்தொம் கொடிதாம் காலச்

சுழியாலே நீஅங்கே நான் இங்கென்று
சுகமின்றி வாழுநிலை ஏனோ கண்ணே ?

விழியாலே வீழ்ந்தேன் : I fell in love looking at your eyes.

பின் விரைந்தே : Then I rushed and...

உள்ளம் விரியும்வரை விண்ணப்பம் இட்டேன் : kept requesting you till your heart opened up for me.

எந்தன் மொழியாலே : With my words,

மோனங்கள் உந்தன் வாயில் முறுவலுடன் கொணர்ந்தேனே ! : I brought a silent accepting smile on your lips (as in I pestered you and you accepted me)

முனைந்தே பெற்றோர் பழியாதே : We tried hard and got the approval of our parents

பாங்கோடு பண்பும் வழுவா(து) பதமாயே மணம்செய்தொம் : And married traditionally with all dignity

கொடிதாம் காலச் சுழியாலே: But because of the cruel kaala chakra (to translate it as circle of time would be stupid)

நீஅங்கே நான் இங்கென்று
சுகமின்றி வாழுநிலை ஏனோ கண்ணே ? : we are apart and unhappy, my dear.
