This song was composed for the documentary on Shri S. Rajam - the legendary carnatic singer. The song is set in a lighter style but using a rare ragam called "maararanjani". The kriti "maa

laaginen vElaa unnai" set in this ragam was popularized by Shri. S. Rajam.

This song was composed for the documentary on Shri S. Rajam - the legendary carnatic singer. The song uses a grahabhedham from Mohanam in C scale to Kamaprabha in C# scale. 

Kamaprabha is also known as shEkharachandrikA and is a janya, of ShubhapantuvaraaLi. This song is not included in the original DVD due to time constraints.

This song follows the notes of another rare raga Gangeyabhushani in which there is one known tyagaraja kriti "evvare ramayya". Unfortunately this song could not find a place in teh DVD but the director was kind enough to let this song be associated with the DVD and be released online. Karthik Nagarajan's mellifluous voice is the highlight, in my opinion.  A tribute to the Carnatic Legend S. Rajam - Sakala Kala Acharyar.
