Celebrating shankarabharaNam - 1 - E teeruga nanu
Song : E teeruga Composer / Lyricist : Bhadrachala Ramadas Originally sung by : Vani Jeyaram Orignally Arranged By : K. V. Mahadevan Movie : shankaraBharaNam
Amazing performance Meera and Murali!! Wow! Hats off to you both. Meera/Murali, both your voices fit so well for such slow and melodious numbers. Thanks a lot for such a great song. Will look forward for the rest of them from Shankarabharanam. Great job!! PS: Murali, note the mistake in the song name below the poster.
Sandhya here Mulla. Absolutely marvelous. Brings back truly cherished memories of watching the film - over and over again - with my Thatha and Patti. You both have done a slpendid rendition :)
Serene. Enjoyed! To my knowledge this is Nadanamakriya. The difference betn this and MMG is the feel (I think the two have distinct flavors) And rigorously speaking, the difference is that the former does not have the upper sa. It never goes that high. (Had argued with Sheela back in the day that if this is what distinguishes NMK from MMG, then NMK is a fraud ragam :P )
Very well done both you guys. The melody and emotion (bhaava) were abundant and resplendant throughout the song. Wanted to keep hearing. You guys should so more duets.

ReplyDeleteFor our country that has had many regional problems because of languages, music has often provided the much needed fabric of harmony.
That's a beautiful observation!
