A unifying musical endeavor in excellence sans the commercial elements using the power of net. This is how I would describe this venture which is a brainchild of Joesph Thomas ( popularly Jo) a singer with a mellifluous voice. This project may have been conceptualized by a few others, but was singlehandedly spearheaded by Jo. This venture has opened new channels to work with some wonderful artists like anup, meera, ajay and more.
Today around 2:30 pm Blogswara goes online. This is the first album in which I have donned the roles of a singer and composer. Hence I can confidently say this is my first album venture ! I seek the support of all my blog visitors to spread the word about Blogswara and enjoy the music that has been produced by the artists involved. Any feedback, positive or negative, will be appreciated wholeheartedly.
Watch out for Blogswara at 2:30 pm EST today !!!!

Theme music was also brilliant. Pinniteenga.
Hello!
ReplyDeleteFirst time here! but I would like to tell you a few things first. I was deeply disappointed by your rendition of alaikadal at blogswara. In my honest opinion, Ganeshs vocals really fit the song well and your rendition has totally spoilt the original verve the song had. I would appreciate it if you revoke that song and replace it with Ganesh's original rendition.
thanks
robbie:
ReplyDeleteappreciate your frankness. I really dont know what to do now. I learnt the tune in 10 minutes after Ganesh approached me, sang it in half an hour, sent it to Mux for mixing who toiled with the mixing for 2 or more hours. Well, I am not very satisfied with the rushed effort either.
I have no problem in having either Ganesh's version or mine. Ganesh and Jo could decide what to have.
Radhika:
Thansk for your valuable comments. Seems like people are having split opinion. Well it is good to see different opinions thatn not have any at all ! Makes the artist feel noticed !
Guys,
ReplyDeleteIt was not mine or Murali's decision to put off the vocal track of Alai Kadal by Ganesh. Being a composer, Ganesh himself asked me if its okay to put the song in Murali's voice and I agreed. Within this short span of time Murali did an amazing job. Ofcourse, this is not his best due to the time constraints as he said above.
I think Radhika has pin-pointed very well about Murali's rendition. It is an excellent composition from Ganeshji and an excellent rendition by Murali. Hats off to you guys!
Murali,
ReplyDeleteGood job, but I really think you can do much better.
On Senthamarai - the part I liked is the rythm. However I didn't like the arrangement. The bass lines especially. I feel it clutters the sound. Some breather would have helped. Also, the same notes, same octave and same "pattern" make it sound monotonous. Think how a bass guitarist will be playing this. Frankly he/she will fall asleep. Imagining real people playing will help.
I suggest that you focus on arrangement a bit more. For example, omiting guitars over female portion and using it only for male would have made it interesting. Or you may have chosen some other instrument over the female.
Kishmu:
ReplyDeletethanks for analyzing in detail. I have just started orchestrating my songs and sendhaamarai is my first 'complete' song. I believe the technique wil improve in the coming numbers. Points noted for future improvement.
Kishmu/aka Swamiji (tfmpage) if are reading this ?
ReplyDeleteHow are you ?
Good to see your here after a long time.
Ganesh, I am fine. Nice to hear your music! Congratulations again on the launch to both you and Murali.
ReplyDeleteMurali,Like i said, Senthamarai is brilliant. I was bit curious when I heard the streaming of Alai kaDal today.. then I checked and as I guessed, Ganesh had got it redone. I like both versions :)
ReplyDeleteMS just heard the revised alai kadal.
ReplyDeleteExcellentaa paadi irukkaa.
It sounds a lot better now.
Murali,
ReplyDeleteI personaly liked the song very much and I guess this Robbie is blowing things up and he is always like that.
so dont worry
I forgot to add. Any further comment in this regard shall be deleted. It is just a waste of time and energy.
ReplyDeleteI have removed all the flamebaits. Hope sanity prevails from now on.
ReplyDeleteMurali:
ReplyDeleteI am re-posting the gist of what I wrote in blogswara. You really nailed "senthamarai". I loved every bit of that song. Right choice of singers. Meera kalakeetanga!! Keep it up!!
